Fifteen years, one room at a time

I'm Vikram Dembla. I started in home theatres. Then came home automation, then lighting, and then complete interiors. Each step taught me one more trade, and how it depends on all the others.

Over those years I've worked with some of the most demanding clients there are: large corporates, C-suite executives, business owners, politicians, film actors and architects, on everything from corporate floors to some of the most high-end homes in the country. Clients like these don't forgive a missed detail. Neither does a site.

The same problems, on every project

Different clients, different budgets, the same problems:

• A voice note with the day's most important update, buried under 200 unread messages.
• "Done, sir," when it wasn't.
• A false ceiling that came down twice, because nobody checked what was underneath.
• A final bill argued from memory, because nobody measured before it was covered.
• A client who swore they never approved the change that put the price up.
• A client calling every evening, because silence felt like bad news.

We tried the software. Our engineers didn't.

Today I'm part of the group behind three firms: Fulcro (technical execution for design firms, and large commercial and retail projects), Aiti (interior design) and TOSI (modular interiors).

We tried other project software, more than one. Every time, the same thing happened. Our engineers used it for a week, then went back to WhatsApp.

I don't blame them. A site engineer works from nine to six, then spends an hour and a half on a bike in Bangalore traffic getting home. He isn't going to open a laptop and fill in forms.

So we built software that listens

With Pakka, he opens WhatsApp, presses the voice button and talks through his day. Pakka turns that voice note into completed tasks, updates for the client, decisions that need approval and the next actions. It all waits on the dashboard for one tap to confirm. No laptop. No new app. Nothing to learn.

We built Pakka inside our own three firms over the past year, desk by desk: first the site, then money, sales and design. For the last six months they have run on it every day. Every week, the people using it told us what was missing, and we built it. Every feature on this site started as a real problem in one of our firms.

Where Pakka is today

• Fulcro runs more than 20 projects on Pakka: site, money and sales. 30 people use it every day.
• Aiti runs its sales, design and money desks on Pakka, across 12 live projects.
• TOSI runs its whole sales desk on Pakka, with more than 300 leads, each with an owner and a next step.

What we believe

• Site teams shouldn't have to learn software. They should be able to talk.
• AI drafts; a person decides. Nothing moves work or money without a human tap.
• Money should move on proof, never on a promise, and never through us.
• Clients deserve calm progress, not your internal chaos.
